The power inlet is a recessed socket to which a |power cable| can be connected. It connects current directly to the internal |power supply|. In larger computers, the socket is a male, three-pin connector common to grounded power cords. On smaller styles, like the |palmtop computer|, the power requirements are so small that a single, female connector, is used to link the cable from a battery pack.
